Spread your Wings
Remember the days of being on the playground, roaming around freely without a care in the world; the smell of wood chips, the sounds of laughter, the feelings of joy flowing within?
Imagine what it would be like to be back in these moments, fully engaged in the present. Think about the genuine happiness that would radiate the space, the connection with those around; how lost in the moment you’d be.
What if we told you we’d be able to bring you back, to fill you with the joys of play whether inside or outside, alone or in a group? How open would you be to spread your wings, let go, and FLY?
Serenity and Play
Our approach to yoga strives to bring youth to times of complete play; to a place of serenity. We recognize that engaging in a mind-body connection can be difficult and sometimes unappealing for youth. Therefore we’ve decided to make yoga more accessible by integrating active games, stories, and songs to our classes. As a result we are allowing our youth to have fun while bettering their minds. Not only do students get to have fun, but they build a deeper understanding of their bodies through participation in a nurturing and team-building environment. In return, they fine tune their motor skills, balance, flexibility, and strength.
Ready? Let’s have some fun!
Washing Machine
It’s time for a little yoga journey. How about you grab some clothes? Shake out that laundry – shake those hands, your feet, ah just shake the whole body! Now for the detergent; reach up real high, get on those tippy toes, hold that balance! Alright, you got the soap, time to get in the washing machine. Climb on it, bring those hands and feet real close and tight, get into a ball and sway side to side. The spin cycle begins! Spin! Spin! Spin! As fast as you can until everyone falls down. We’re almost ready, grab your toes and stretch out your leg to make a clothesline to let the laundry dry. And, we’re done!
Imagine the smiles, laughter, silliness in the classroom as your child is actively engaged in a mind-body connection without any awareness that they’re developing their mind because of all the fun. Who wouldn’t want to come back and experience another session of yoga after that?
It’s time to soar!
